Manager, Social Media Team

Remote (United States)

The Manager, Social Media Team will oversee a team of Social Media Managers and the performance of organic social media marketing campaigns executed on behalf of clients. This role will be responsible for all elements of team management, campaign performance, sales collaboration, and departmental success. The manager will actively collaborate with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization to optimize strategy, tools, processes, and tactics as well as work with stakeholders and leaders to plan, define, and achieve business goals and objectives. Superior organization skills, creative problem solving, thought leadership, and constant curiosity are vital to ensure the success of the team and this service offering

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years or more of relevant experience as a manager/director or related title in digital marketing leading a team of social media/digital marketing experts - including hiring, disciplinary documentation, firing, developing, and promoting of team members
  • Excellent understanding of social media marketing concepts, specifically including interplay of paid, owned and earned digital media
  • Inspire and develop a team of Social Media Managers with individualized and overarching plans promoting diversity, respect, community, engagement and overall satisfaction of internal team and clients
  • Excellent analytical skills to assist with multi-solution analysis, strategy, and developing insights for individual social media marketing campaigns - must be able to identify trends across various segments and classifications of campaigns
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to coordinate at various levels across companies, including Marketing Solutions, Sales, Product, Engineering, Graphic Design, Client Success and Executive Leadership
  • Organized and able to create multiple timelines and schedules with the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Present opportunities for improvement, influenced by research and trends, quantified by key metrics.
  • Stay up to date with social media and digital marketing best practices and strategies, offering thought leadership, continuous refinement of tactics and best-in-class solutions for the organization
  • Solid negotiation skills and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with team members, clients, extended teams, and management
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, (Word,
  • PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) Salesforce
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage delicate team member and client relationships
  • Driven and strong leadership style with the ability to efficiently and professionally manage the company’s use of time and resources
  • Experience working with multiple verticals and different client models, understanding how market conditions, geography and seasonality impact the success of clients’ businesses and drive strategies
  • Proven project management, organizational and collaboration skills

Special Knowledge: 

  • Social media marketing experience, focused on small-to-medium (SMB) and/or local businesses
  • Ability to present opportunities for synergy and expansion of social media marketing offerings within the organization’s current solutions and product offerings
  • Experience with social media automation/measurement tools (Sprout, Spredfast, etc.), content approval software, and Facebook Ads Manager


Requirements: 

  • Firm understanding of advertising and marketing concepts with the ability to convey different strategies and tactics and how they impact a business, including but not limited to creative, research, social media, selling, storytelling, branding, search engine optimization, websites, personas, and media planning, communicated in a way team members and clients comprehend and trust
  • Ability to deliver and develop strategies or tactics outside an existing offering or SOW
  • Provide inter-departmental collaboration, resourceful interactions with highly-skilled specialists and efficient communication to develop a fresh approach
  • Show understanding of the sales processes and existing client relationships in order to present new ideas and assist with client upsells and discussions
  • Analytical and able to decipher data into actionable items, able to present findings within a relevant client storyline while detailing the work completed and explaining how it has benefitted the client


Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, Emerging Media or related field; Master’s Degree a plus
