Manager, Social Media

New York, NY

The Manager, Social Media is responsible for helping position the League as the most engaging and innovative sports brand in social media. This role manages the process in which content is collected from and distributed to clubs, players, partner, influencers and more. This role is responsible for both supporting the aforementioned stakeholders in achieving their objectives, as well as utilizing the talent, audiences, etc. of these stakeholders to help achieve @MLS social media objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, create and post content for MLS social media platforms including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, and on weekdays, evenings and weekends (game, big event, and desk coverage required).
  • Implement and manage a content collaboration and distribution program with players, clubs and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across the enterprise on strategies that leverage players, partners, influencers, and/or celebrities to achieve enterprise-wide KPIs.
  • Help support club social media staffs with best practices documents, account analysis, player verification, etc.
  • Manage and execute programming around key events including but not limited to MLS All-Star, Decision Day and MLS Cup, while working cross-departmentally to ensure all organizational and objectives are met.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Trailblazing attitude and creative spirit
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Prior corporate experience utilizing social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite (or other video and photo editing platforms)
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Passionate about providing fans with a great digital experience by listening, interacting and producing innovative content
  • Knowledge of MLS and the U.S. Men’s National Team
  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally


Desired Skills

  • Previous experience working with athletes, entertainers, personalities or influencers
  • Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
