Manager Social Media


The Social Media Manager will be responsible for defining social media strategy and overseeing social media channel strategy execution for brand and marketing. Has an expert understanding of organic and paid social execution and analysis, how to pull the levers in channels for engagement versus direct response and is knowledgeable in best-in-class ways to engage and grow a passionate audience.

Job Duties

  • Accountable leader managing Geisinger’s presence, channel strategies, brand voice and customer engagement on social media.
  • Establishes key performance indicators for social media strategy; Reports monthly on progress against objectives.
  • Leads social team by managing staff and agency resources to execute strategy while providing ongoing strategic guidance.
  • Partners with marketing, digital marketing, media, brand, and internal communications teams to plan and oversee content calendar and analytics.
  • Educates colleagues on social media channel strategies, key performance indicators and content best practices to achieve high audience engagement and growth.
  • Oversees social media audience response and engagement.
  • Works with team to develop comprehensive monitoring processes for owned and third-party channels, and recommends approaches and tools needed to execute.
  • Expands Geisinger’s ability to listen and respond to patient satisfaction concerns in ways that enable service recovery and operational improvements that enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Relentlessly seeks to build audiences and the Geisinger brand through social media channels; Builds a team and implements processes to achieve these goals.
  • Serves as product owner of tools and applications that support and enhance efficiencies on social media channels; oversees use of these tools for scheduling, analytics, publishing, and monitoring.
  • Keeps abreast of social media trends and best practices, shares this information with colleagues and leadership, and incorporates into Geisinger’s strategies. Attends social media conferences as appropriate.
  • Translates social and web analytics and qualitative data into recommendations and plans for social media content and community management.
  • Serves as administrator for Geisinger’s social media policies and assures policies stay consistent with Geisinger strategy and practices.
  • Works with legal and privacy offices directly to evolve policies as needed.

Position Details

Must be within a commutable drive to Danville, Pennsylvania for on-site presence as business needs require.


Associate's Degree- (Required)


Minimum of 8 years-Marketing (Required)
