Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to multiple BBU manufacturing operations for sustainability, environmental compliance, and engineering matters to accomplish designated projects and assignments.
  • Provide training to new Bakery Environmental Coordinators
  • Assure regulatory compliance is maintained at bakeries within the Region and during the design & execution of project activities.
  • Serve as company liaison with regulatory agencies to manage regulatory requirements and negotiate regulatory outcomes
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third party contractors to help ensure compliance
  • Serve as liaison to other corporate functional groups
  • Develop and implement projects that provide solutions to environmental concerns and energy reduction opportunities which provide a competitive advantage for BBU manufacturing operations located throughout the United States.
  • Seek to develop creative and cost-efficient solutions to address challenges occurring at the environmental / business interface.
  • Willingness to travel 60% of the time.


Key Behavioral Competencies:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with operators, department managers and upper management.
  • Project management experience is beneficial.
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently with follow through until complete.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Must have the ability to understand and operate within the overall Grupo Bimbo Sustainability culture.


Education and Work History:

  • Bachelor’s level degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering or related studies. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current Environmental / Sustainability Topics (i.e. Environmental Regulations, Green Energy Technologies, Greenhouse Gases, Waste and Recycling, Energy / Water Conservation, etc.)
  • This position will support California and knowledge of their applicable environmental regulations is needed.
  • Knowledge of various state and governmental incentives for energy projects.
