The Manager of Finance, E-commerce plays an integral role on the Finance team and is the glue between the Planning/Buying, Marketing, and Finance teams.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) apparel business and understands the interplay of sales, inventory, and margin.
You will lead the reporting and analysis of key performance metrics, support business decision-making, and the annual planning and forecasting cycles. Successful candidates must be ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into the data, systems, and models while working collaboratively with the team to ensure that FP&A can partner across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and forecast demand, sales & margin for Lulus including Key Performance Indicators (AUR, UPT, AOV, Traffic)
- Work with the Planning team to develop full price/promotion/markdown plans that reconcile merchandising strategies with the total company financial goals. Highlight risks and opportunities to plan
- Manage the performance marketing budget and forecast, ensuring that marketing spending aligns with sales plans
- Collaborate in preseason planning activities, including long-range planning (revenue/margin/inventory), annual budgeting, and quarterly planning
- Develop in-season forecasts that drive the cross-functional team to maximize inventory productivity and top-line sales & margin while communicating risks and opportunities to the Company forecast
- Responsible for completion, submission, and accuracy of the quarterly corporate forecast for sales, margin, inventory, marketing, and KPIs
- Translate quarterly forecasts into actionable monthly and daily forecasts to inform senior leaders on the health of the business
- Deliver and present financial analysis that creates insight into the business, drives business decisions, and influences top-line sales/margin and inventory forecasts
- Partner with the Finance and Data Analytics team to refine tools and processes and improve the overall effectiveness of the organization
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Math, or related field
- 6+ years of financial planning, forecasting, and analysis (preferably in FP&A or Merchandise Planning)
- Strong analytical skills; able to forecast and plan accurately based on solid methodologies
- Strong retail math skills are critical including an understanding of sales & margin levers and retail Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for a DTC business
- Flexible and able to adjust in an ever-changing global retail marketplace, interacting with people on different levels including senior executives
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build strong partnerships and influence others
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects with tight deadlines. Excellent communication; written, oral, and group facilitation
- Ability to apply logical thinking and sound judgment to a wide range of practical problems
- Strong technical aptitude including the ability to learn company systems and tools. Strong Excel skills are a must
