Manager, Graphic Design

Atlanta, GA

Shepard is seeking a manager, Graphic Design that will directly supervise the graphic design team on the production and design of print graphics for trade shows and special events. This position will oversee department SOPs, handle new associate hiring and onboarding, work closely with Manager of Design Production on all event assignments, enforce Brand Guidelines from Marketing, and communicate across departments to coordinate graphic design needs are ensure they are met companywide.


Essential Job Duties

  • Manage the continued training and development of Graphic Design team
  • Review and approve graphic design team timecards, PTO, and expense reports
  • Assist with the shared Design inbox in response to graphic design inquiries and rush requests
  • Collaborate with department leadership on the recruiting process of reviewing resumes, interviewing, and training new graphic design hires
  • Interface with department leaders for cross-training within the company including show site visits for Graphic Design team 
  • Provide input and direction on show assignments for graphic designers
  • Maintain and update SOPs within the graphic and production realm of design services
  • Execute show look designs and event design layout as needed within event and department schedule
  • Participate in customer discovery and/or Design Summit meetings as needed to provide creative direction
  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Graphic Design or 5-7 years (minimum) of experience in oversize or trade show graphics; supervisory experience a plus
  • Required experience with the following 2D software programs
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook, Teams) & WebEx
  • Windows-based design environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to work well with groups
  • Ability to work well under pressure and demands
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet deadlines; some night and weekend hours maybe required
