This position will oversee Four Seasons global environmental sustainability efforts, playing a critical role in driving progress towards the company’s ESG objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee Four Seasons global environmental sustainability efforts, including the company’s strategies for addressing climate change and reducing energy, water, and waste.
- Oversee global carbon accounting and annual greenhouse gas inventory, ensuring adherence with industry standards and ability to meet both regulatory and voluntary reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide subject matter expertise to progress environmental-focused Four Seasons for Good initiatives, including efforts around reducing food waste, responsible sourcing, and integrating sustainability into the built environment.
- Collaborate with ESG Analyst to develop metrics and KPIs to track progress towards sustainability targets, and prepare reporting on performance for senior management, the Board, and other stakeholders.
- Regularly assess the organization's environmental sustainability performance against industry peers and best practices, while also monitoring legislation, regulations, and industry trends related to climate and environment.
- Represent the ESG Team in internal conferences and external working groups focused on climate and sustainability.
- Establish partnerships with environmental NGOs and other organizations, to further progress Four Seasons environmental efforts.
What You Bring:
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills; detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience implementing environmental programs, managing environmental performance, and/or handling environmental datasets (energy, carbon, water and waste) for multi-national organizations.
- Demonstrated experience with carbon accounting, commitment to environmental trends and best practices.
- Experience developing and obtaining assurance over greenhouse gas emissions inventories of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions for complex global operations and supply chains.
- Experience developing climate-related disclosures (TCFD, CDP, ESG reporting, etc.)
- Experience, comfort, and passion for managing and supporting the development of direct reports.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across global, virtual, and cross-functional teams and effectively communicate the value of ESG programs and complex ESG concepts and data to diverse audiences.
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Sustainability/ESG-related field preferred
- LEED or BREEAM Accredited Professional certification a plus.
- Hospitality or luxury industry experience a plus
This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario
