Manager, Cultivation Planning

Canopy is looking for a Manager, Cultivation Planning to join its Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team on a permanent full-time position basis. Reporting to the Director, IBP, the mandate of the Manager, Cultivation Planning is to implement, manage, execute, track and improve the cultivation and purchase of bulk cannabis in support of both operating budget and commercial forecast. In addition, the role will lead key responsibilities in defining growing/purchasing risks and opportunities. The role will work closely with the Sales and Marketing Teams to identify route and timeline to market for new strains and ensure sufficient on-time supply for all strains.

 

Responsibilities  

  • Lead the overall Grow, Cultivation and Purchasing planning processes cross-functionally
  • Successful implementation of planning and tracking processes for cultivation, purchasing and inventory management
  • Participate or lead integration projects for new strains
  • Collaboration with the process owners for planning and scheduling Flower products
  • Participation in the IBP process collaborating with areas such as Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Procurement, and others
  • Maintenance of planning data related to areas such as grow and grow capacity, as well as requirements by strain
  • Maintain data and continually track potency, salability grade and success rate of grown and purchased bulk product
  • Control the flow of data from Demand Planning and Supply Planning through our planning process to drive a cultivation/purchase plan
  • Tracking, reporting, and actioning (as applicable) of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Identification and rectification of gaps in process, capacities, and knowledge 
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining ongoing reporting of KPIs, including building new standard reporting in and presentation of KPIs and action plans at a senior level
  • Dissemination of cultivation/purchase plans in accordance with Global IBP guidelines
  • Participation with peers in the definition, design, and on-going management of IBP KPIs
  • Identification and reporting of crop and supply chain risks
  • Adherence to Canopy IBP processes and the use of approved tools
  • Collaboration with peers in process improvement activities
  • Other duties assigned


Experience   

  • Strong knowledge of cannabis strains, grow process and industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field and/or;
  • Graduate degree in supply chain management and/or
  • Professional supply chain certification (APICS/SCOR)
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced planning system (RapidResponse preferred)
  • Capacity planning/management

  • This is a full-time hybrid position based out of Toronto, ON. Approximately 20% travel to grow sites (mainly in Ontario) will be required.
