What’s the role?

We are looking for a Manager, Compensation, House of Brands to lead the synergy of the global total compensation programs between Etsy, Reverb, Depop and Elo7 in partnership with the Director, Compensation. This will be an individual contributor role focused on compensation programs for Etsy Inc’s subsidiaries; we refer to the companies which comprise Etsy Inc as the “House of Brands,” or HOB for short. This role will focus on validating that our compensation programs are internally equitable, externally competitive and sustainable and acting as a consultant to the Reverb, Depop and Elo7 HR teams in understanding the root cause of a compensation issue and leading the methodology and communications needed to resolve the issue in a timely and effective manner. This is a full-time position reporting to the Director, Compensation. For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States who are either remote, flex, or office-based. What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Lead the synergy of the global total compensation programs between Etsy, Reverb, Depop and Elo7 (House of Brands) in partnership with the Director, Compensation with an eye toward validating that our compensation programs are internally equitable, externally competitive and sustainable. Acting as a consultant to the Reverb, Depop and Elo7 HR teams to understand the root cause of a compensation issue and lead the methodology and communications needed to resolve the issue in a timely and effective manner. 
  • Partner with the HOB HR teams on the annual compensation review process and promotion cycles, from administration to communication. Oversee the completion of external compensation survey data collection, maintenance, and participation and compensation data audits in Workday for HOB. 
  • Create and maintain processes to ensure data integrity in partnership with the Director, Compensation. Support the ongoing development and tracking of key performance indicators related to total compensation. Validate that our compensation programs continue to help Reverb, Depop, and Elo7 achieve business and talent goals.
  • Evaluate and research industry trends and regulatory factors affecting compensation and rewards and surface those trends regularly to the Director, Compensation for consideration.
  • Assist business partners and recruiting with compensation-related requests, issues, questions, and communications. Collaborate with the finance, payroll, and legal teams to ensure our compensation programs and plans are administered timely, accurately, and in compliance with local laws, both domestically and internationally.
  • Build compensation models and forecasts, partnering with the brand and Etsy Finance Teams to ensure the proper accrual and accounting of these programs as well as annual budget setting for all compensation programs. Build and generate recurrent and ad-hoc compensation reports, guides, and presentations for the HOB HR teams, legal, finance, and senior management for the purposes of strategic decision-making and education
  • Find opportunities for process improvement as it relates to compensation.

Qualifications

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • Data-driven, innovative, and solutions-oriented person who is able to conduct robust compensation analyses and strategically advise the Reverb, Depop and Elo7 HR teams.
  • 5-7 years of experience working on global compensation plan design and administration.
  • At least 2 years working on compensation plan design at a public company within the tech industry or consulting firm.
  • Experience with an HRIS is required; experience with Workday specifically is a plus.
  • Executive compensation experience and involvement in Compensation Committee work is a plus
