Manager, Accounts Payable

Aliso Viejo, CA

Compensation: $95,000 to $110,000. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive with the target at 10% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply. (Hybrid – in the office 3 days a week)


The Manager, Accounts Payable is responsible for leading the Accounts Payable process and function. This position directs and oversees the daily management of the accounts payable staff and processes associated with accounts payable, ensuring the accuracy of the entire process as it relates to vendor payment, processing of purchase orders, receiving, invoices and payment of invoices, and communication with customers and vendors. This position ensures company policies and procedures are adhered to as they pertain to accounts payable. 


Essential Functions:

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor the Accounts Payable staff, and including quarterly feedback reviews, goal setting and time off requests.
  • Responsible for maintaining Accounts Payable systems.
  • Ensure all system and process training is kept up to date.
  • Communicate system and process changes to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strive to automate manual processes.
  • Design and implement process improvement.
  • Prepare/review month-end AP close processes, including account analysis, reconciliations and review monthly accruals.
  • Coordinate the timely processing of invoices and creating required reports.
  • Examine, audit for compliance of procedures and/or evaluates subordinate's work product for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain, review and communicate KPI’s.
  • Respond to internal / external customer or vendor requests and inquiries.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations.
  • Establish new internal policies and procedures to increase productivity and efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • 4+ years’ experience in a high-volume Accounts Payable or higher Finance & Accounting role
  • Experience in Accounts Payable Processing and Annual Audit Assistance
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or another major accounting software
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, and build relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Strong Excel skills


Preferred:

  • Experience working with SAP and Concur
  • Managing and developing accounts payable personnel
