Manager Accounts Payable

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the AP Manager will perform a variety of accounting clerical tasks related to the maintenance/processing of payable account records/ invoices for the Company's various clients and vendors. Manages relationships with vendors, internal and external customers, ensuring compliance and driving department efficiencies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES
- Reviews Operation, Inventory and Construction invoice payments across multiple systems to ensure accuracy for the expense being processed
- Ensures the team's work is accurate and invoices are approved for payment promptly
- Resolves discrepancies with suppliers and build trustworthy & reliable relationship with suppliers/departments/colleagues
- Effectively communicates on inquires to ensure all invoices/inquiries are handled within the company's standards.
- Identifies missing invoices from suppliers and ensure they are captured prior to month end close
- Reconciles monthly supplier statements, which includes follow ups and reporting
- Adheres to the new vendor setup and maintenance procedures
- Supports Accounts Payable and Accounting team with GL reconciliation
- Assists with the annual 1099 process
- Implements solutions, best practices, and procedures in the accounts payable department
- Team-player who can also work independently
- Other responsibilities as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and motivates staff (including hiring, firing & performance management)
- Train, direct and appraise staff
- Issues written & verbal instructions; examines for conformance to regulations and policy
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Five or more years of accounting experience
- One or more years of leadership experience included
- Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software
- Must have large ERP AP system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience
- Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting accountants, clients, and upper management
- Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
