The Global Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the global transportation for Tarte Inc. The position is responsible for planning and coordinating the timely, cost-effective, and safe transport of all shipments while complying with government laws and regulations, including but not limited to: Customs and Border Protections (CBP), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Hazardous Goods, and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR 19). The successful candidate will provide guidance and information to all personnel on inquiries regarding worldwide shipping options, Duty & VAT rates, and transit times. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for determining the most safe, efficient, and cost-effective methods of coordinating freight shipments via ocean/truck/air/courier.  
  • Issue RFQs to multiple Forwarders and Carriers, organize and review all proposed rates and provide recommendations to Sr. Manager. 
  • Review / compare freight invoices against quotes and submit to the Sr. Manager for review and final approval.
  • Generate, maintain, and distribute all logistics documentation (inclusive of carrier shipping labels FedEx, UPS, DHL), including shipping documents, commercial invoice, customs forms, Shippers Letters of Instructions (SLI) and packing list.
  • Track and follow up on all inbound/outbound domestic and international shipments to ensure timely deliveries to destination.
  • Systematically post shipment receipts, update shipment details in our ERP, and perform daily reconciliations on posted vs. In-transit shipment reports
  • Generate, maintain, and administer weekly Inbound shipment reports.
  • Interface with international and domestic retail partners, foreign subsidiaries, distributors, 3PL, suppliers, brokers, and carriers to ensure compliance with all applicable import and export regulations. 
  • Communicate and trouble shoot all shipment related issues with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams. 
  • Work closely and build a relationship with the designated Customs brokers and carriers to coordinate timely and compliant flows of shipments. 
  • Comply with the packing and handling guidelines for all shipments in conjunction with product safety and security requirements. 
  • Assist cross-functional teams with logistics and customs related inquiries.  
  • Participate in continuous process improvements related to inbound / outbound shipments and manage recordkeeping of internal documentation and procedures. Conduct periodic process reviews, identify gaps, and implement necessary corrective actions.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, operations management, and/or business administration
  • Working knowledge and understanding of global logistics, imports/exports, international & domestic freight shipments, US Customs, FDA, Hazardous goods, Duty & VAT, Incoterms, & HTS Classification
  • Organized, analytical, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects in a high-pressure environment.
  • The ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, and the ability to create Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and If Statements.
  • Experience working in an ERP (Navision preferable), TMS, and WMS systems.
  • Experience in Ecommerce, retail, or consumer goods supply chain is a plus.
