Legal Support Specialist

Tampa, FL

The Legal Support Specialist 3 is a non-attorney role, responsible for providing legal support and project management expertise to the Citi O&T IP/Technology Transactions Legal team. This role requires a pragmatic, proactive professional who can apply analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail.


The legal support specialist will perform legal review of contracts and other legal documents by, e.g., checking to ensure requested changes were made, required provisions are included, etc. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams. 


Tasks include: 

  • Assist lawyers by preparing legal documents or conducting legal research to support attorney work
  • Manage data in various legal databases and systems and track billing and invoices for external counsel
  • Perform varied tasks associated with programs and projects
  • Communicate, both orally and in writing (including memorandum, letters & e-mails), with business clients, customers, internal staff and external counsel
  • Prepare reports and conduct administrative legal work
  • Maintain detailed records, create, prepare and process legal documentation under direction of attorneys
  • Determine best method to manage large multi-discipline projects and create and maintain concomitant dashboard and other tracking systems to track progress; follow up with participants to ensure projects stay on time


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years relevant experience
  • Paralegal certification from an accredited institution is desirable
  • Experience in a corporate legal department, law firm or related field
  • Excellent technical, writing, analytic and research expertise
  • Excellent Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent skills in creating and preparing dynamic spreadsheets and reports to graphically track and capture progress of large projects involving multiple teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills relating to confidential information and when dealing with customers/regulators/staff
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to review and organize numerous related documents
  • Excellent Project management skills

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $62,620.00 - $87,380.00
