Your Role and Responsibilities

This role will support the VP, Legal Operations in driving business initiatives aligned to the long-term strategic agenda of IBM Legal & Regulatory Affairs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of strategic implementation, communications, and change management principles to drive results.Key Responsibilities:


Business Transformation

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of current legal department processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new workflows and processes that enhance service delivery and reduce turnaround times.
  • Partner with the Legal Technology Product Owner to integrate technology solutions that streamline operations, such as document management systems and case management software.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of transformation initiatives and provide regular reports to the Chief Legal Officer.


Change Management

  • Develop and execute change management strategies that align with organizational goals and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Create and maintain a change management toolkit, including templates, tools, and resources to support ongoing initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to equip team members with the skills and knowledge needed to adapt to new processes and tools.
  • Act as a change ambassador, promoting a culture of adaptability and resilience within the legal department.


Commercial Operations

  • Build relationships with internal organizations (Finance, IBM Sales, IBM M&A) to build a commercial strategy for legal technology. Collaborate closely to ensure strategies are aligned and support revenue growth initiatives.
  • Lead the planning and execution of key commercial projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery. Identify potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on business operations. Regularly evaluate project outcomes and performance against established goals, making adjustments as necessary to drive success.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to assess sales and marketing performance, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop an externally-facing legal operations thought leadership strategy, partnering with IBM Communications to develop engaging content for various external communication channels.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience in business transformation, change management, or related roles, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on results.


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or business management.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, CRM systems, BI tools)
  • Strong understanding of change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter’s 8-Step Process).

Travel Required: Up to 40% or 2 days a week (home on weekends- based on project requirements)

Contract Type: Regular

Projected Minimum Salary: $158,477 per year

Projected Maximum Salary: $237,715 per year
