Legal Operations Director
The Legal Operations Director is responsible for all operational and financial management for the Legal, Risk & Compliance Department. The Legal Operations Director is dedicated to designing and maintaining optimal legal processes, as well as deploying tactics to keep the Department on budget. The role is financially responsible for the fees and expenses associated with all legal matters for the enterprise.
The Legal Operations Director is also responsible for vendor management, reporting and technology for the Department, and is responsible for establishing policies and procedures that leverage Company policy, external benchmarks, and industry best practices. The Legal Operations Director will report directly to the General Counsel.
Description
- Oversee and manage the Department's global budget including forecasting and spend analytics
- Assist with managing the company's relationships with outside counsel globally for all subject matter areas
- Responsible for developing and overseeing the Department's technology usage, creation, storage, and sharing of information
- Assist the General Counsel with strategic planning and execution
- Ensure responsible and disciplined knowledge management for the Department and the Enterprise as appropriate
- Design and maintain optimized legal processes
- Create, revise, implement and oversee Department policies
- Provides metric data analytics as a means to identify productivity and assess impact & progress on key initiatives, cultural imperatives, and process improvement
- Work with the General Counsel to manage the Department's budget, forecasting and spend analytics. Serve as a primary point of contact with business finance partners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 5+ years in a legal operations role for a comparable company
- Strong project management and planning skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with superior attention to detail
- Adept in management information systems and business processes
- Team player who is results-oriented and self-motivated
- Strong customer service attitude; views department staff as customers
- Basic understanding of P&L management
- Strong Power Point and Excel skills
