Legal Counsel

As Legal Counsel, you will report directly to the Head of Legal at Postscript and be an early member of the legal team. This role is critical in enabling Postscript to support our growing customer base. You will partner directly with Legal Operations, Go-To-Market Leadership and our customers. You are a collaborative team member with strong problem-solving skills who can manage multiple, high-priority projects in a fast-paced environment. You are a critical player in helping us scale. All positions at Postscript are fully remote.

Primary Duties

• Draft and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including master service agreements, SOWs, other commercial agreements, software licenses, SaaS agreements, leases and confidentiality agreements
• Update and improve our suite of form agreements and other documents
• Develop and improve cross-functional workflows, guidelines and playbooks to provide efficient legal support to the business
• Training and coaching teammates on contract law and best practices
• Work closely with business leaders and individual contributors across the organization to identify, understand and develop solutions for complex regulatory challenges
• Assist in the drafting and negotiation of a variety of strategic transactions (e.g., potential M&A activity, asset acquisitions, joint ventures and commercial partnerships, etc.)
• Have the flexibility to take on new and evolving work as we scale

What We’ll Love About You

• J.D. degree and licensed to practice law in at least one state in the USA
• Minimum 3 years overall work experience as an attorney (at a law firm and/or in-house)
• Experience in any or all of the following subject matters is a plus:
• Privacy and data security 
• Marketing and advertising law
• Familiarity with TCPA and/or telecommunications
• Software development and outsourced service agreements
• Licensing and other technology transfer transactions
• Strong organization and project tracking skills, with a penchant for writing out processes and working to automate
• Ability to quickly and proactively master new legal subject matter areas, and curiosity to enjoy the ride
• Strong time management and prioritization skills, as well as ability to effectively interface and partner with business leads in various departments. Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience managing outside counsel and/or coordinating legal subject matter experts
