Legal Contract Specialist

Remote (United States)

Bounteous is a fast-growing company seeking a detail-oriented Legal Contract Specialist to assist in contract creation, negotiation and reviews. The ideal candidate will have experience with agency type service contracts (MSAs and SOWs), primarily in the IT/digital industry, as well as NDAs, various vendor agreements, and employment contracts. Attention to detail is a key success factor, along with the ability to proactively suggest improvements, organize processes and establish legal support for the whole Bounteous team. This position has been opened as Bounteous continues to grow and expand.


Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain various contract templates, suggesting and making updates and improvements
  • Work with external legal teams to coordinate updates to agreements, negotiation and review process
  • Serve as the legal ambassador between Finance and other teams to ensure all legal-related questions are answered and required support provided
  • Answer ad-hoc legal questions from various teams within Bounteous
  • Handle the review and approval of SOWs for the client agreements
  • Facilitate review and signing of NDAs with new clients and vendors
  • Ensure proper contract filing and record keeping
  • Maintain contract database of over 100 clients to ensure proper accounting for contract end/renewal dates, special clauses, non-compete lists etc
  • Manage, file and organize contracts within Salesforce
  • Facilitate and perform the review of MSAs, work with external legal team as needed
  • Lead/participate in calls with client and/or vendor legal teams to discuss and negotiate agreements
  • Perform legal review of vendor agreements and quotes
  • Train new team members in Bounteous contract review process
  • Maintain legal and regulatory knowledge and stay up to date with changing laws that may affect the company


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience negotiating agreements, drafting redlines and maintaining contract templates
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from accredited college or university
  • Experience with service contracts, preferably in the digital industry
  • International law and/or employment law experience is a plus
  • Strong Excel and MS Word skills
  • Experience with Confluence and Salesforce a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to prioritize on the go
  • Proven ability to learn quickly
