Legal Assistant

Arlington, TX

Work hard, have fun, and make history working with Amazon's Legal Department. We are looking for a smart and motivated individual to provide administrative assistance for various teams.


The successful candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently and independently; manage high volumes of tasks and projects with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick response or turnaround; take effective action without having to know the total picture; and think creatively and be proactive in solving problems that affect people within the group or other related groups.


In addition, you must be a strong written and verbal communicator, with great attention to detail, and must be able to work independently in a constantly changing and sometimes ambiguous environment. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information, as well as the ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company, is essential. This position involves working with attorneys, business owners, and external representatives.


Key job responsibilities

  • Administering a company-wide learning management system
  • Supporting the adoption of learning management system amongst partners in and outside of Legal
  • Functioning as the main operational point of contact with Amazon’s learning management system vendor
  • Developing and maintaining custom completion reports for compliance training
  • Providing customer service and technical troubleshooting help for global learners
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Coordinating agreement approvals and execution
  • Tracking documents
  • Maintaining status reports
  • Word processing


Performing general office tasks (such as calendaring, filing and budget tracking), and coordinating other legal and administrative matters with the business groups.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of professional experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Outstanding judgment and discretion with confidential matters.
  • Self-starter with strong bias for action and keen attention to detail
  • Learning management system administration experience
