Lead Software Engineer

Addison, TX

***This role is located in our corporate offices in Dallas, TX, or can be Remote***

What will I be doing?

As the Lead Software Engineer- Android, will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, and troubleshooting of our Hilton Android app experiences in collaboration with other engineers and business partners. You must be hardworking and engaged with the latest technology trends and actively shares the possibilities with the broader team.


More specifically, you will:

  • Implement new requirements within our agile delivery methodology while following our established architectural principles
  • Write clean, concise code that is stable, extensible, and unit-tested appropriately
  • Actively participate in code reviews
  • Collaborate with team members to implement and test phenomenal guest experiences
  • Debug and resolve production issues as needed


What are we looking for?

The success in this role will demonstrate itself through the following attributes and skills:

  • Experience with Android Studio, Gradle, and Git
  • Experience with Kotlin and Java
  • Experience with REST, JSON, Dagger, Realm, URL loading, and web services
  • Experience with various architectural design patterns (UDF, MVVM, MVC)
  • Experience with RxJava
  • Familiarity with Test Driven Development
  • Familiarity with agile software tools such as JIRA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Participate in a fast-paced environment with daily commits, weekly store releases, and real-time collaboration


To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or a related field
  • Three (3) years in an Android software engineering role
  • Experience with full-cycle software development, preferably in an Agile environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10%


It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience
  • Seven (7) + years of professional work experience in Technology or a related field
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose
