Lead Game Artist

New York, NY

The Lead Game Artist will be responsible for defining and managing the artistic vision for Peloton’s gamified workout experiences. They will work closely with design, art production, product, and engineering partners to ensure that all deliverables meet the desired level of quality, and fit within the overall aesthetic of the experiences.

 

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

  • Own and define the artistic direction and visual language for environments, levels, characters/avatars, and animation/motion
  • Create concept art from rough sketches, storyboards, to high-resolution assets for use in-engine
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing existing art and proactively driving forward
  • Collaborate with and direct production artists, external partners, and engineers to create high-quality game assetsWe Guide the art team’s schedule and influence prioritization of deliverables
  • Provide feedback on UX/UI to ensure it’s cohesive with the overall visual language
  • Manage and optimize art workflows
  • Ensure artistic integrity throughout performance optimizations
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continually improve the quality of the game’s art.


YOU BRING TO PELOTON

  • 6+ years of experience creating , directing, and executing concept art for games, entertainment, or 3D interactive design 
  • Exceptional portfolio of work demonstrating strong proficiency creating art and animation for 3D environments with examples of shipped experiences (preferably games)
  • Elevated and discerning aesthetic that can hit the right visual tone balancing narrative and brand
  • Imaginative with a willingness to innovate visually within the parameters of the game’s world
  • Proactive with a bias for action
  • Strong collaborative nature to partner with discipline leads on game ideation
  • Avid user of gamified experiences
  • Interest in the fitness space
  • Expert understanding of Photoshop and 3D tools such as Maya, Max, Blender (or equivalent)
  • Bonus: Experience working with Unity


Base Salary: $187,300.00 to $243,400.00


The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
