Lead Full Stack Engineer

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Technology as part of Wealth Investment Management Technology's (WIMT) engineering and transformation office.


This Lead Software Engineer will join the Supervision team in Wealth and Investment Technology organization within Wells Fargo Technology. Our team provides development and support of the Risk, Compliance, and Supervision Platform. Supervision is an important back office activity, which includes monitoring of the trade activities based on FINRA, SEC, and internal policies and processes. This position will play a key role in assisting with the development of our modernization/transformation activities including creating alerts and rules to help business in monitoring activities. The Lead Software Engineer will lead design and development of software solutions utilizing Java, Oracle, SQL Server, Kafka, Rule Engines, and Cloud technologies.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 3+ years of Java programming
  • 2+ years Angular experience
  • 2+ years of SQL experience
  • 2+ years of experience in SOAP and REST services


Desired Qualifications:

  • Should be proficient in latest software development technologies namely, Cloud computing, Kafka, PCF, Azure, Event Driven Architecture, Kubernetes, Apigee, Redis, and Microservices.
  • Must have experience in understanding and building applications in the Compliance and Supervision space, in financial industry domain.
  • Should have significant experience working with Scrum team and solid understanding of Agile and DevOps.
  • Have experience and understanding of Denodo data virtualization layer, FIS Protegent system, Synapse, Actimize, and Alerts generation process.
  • Need to have experience in configuring, and utilizing App monitoring and development technologies, namely Splunk, AppDynamics, Jenkins, Elasticsearch, Grafana, GitHub, and Ucd.
  • Must have solid understanding and experience in relational databases as well as NoSQL Databases, such as MongoDB, and query languages, as T-SQL.
  • Experience in Spring, Springboot, and Jira
