What you will do:
This individual will implement, monitor, improve and develop Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at the Stryker Cary, IL location. This position will help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations as well as promote a safe work culture dedicated to identifying and eliminating hazards, managing risks, educating and improving the overall safety and health of our employees.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environment and safety.
- Maintain and improve environment, health, and safety programs (i.e. Emergency management, Lockout tagout, Hazardous communication, Ergonomics, Illness and injury prevention).
- Conducting EH&S assessments to evaluate EHS risks.
- Develop EHS procedures for new process’s, equipment, chemicals, tasks, etc.
- Conduct incident investigations and developing corrective and preventive actions to reduce potential for re-occurrence and prevent future incidents.
- Oversee hazardous waste disposal and waste handling.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing, engineering, facilities, Labs and R&D.
- Help lead and support EHS teams- EHS committee, ergonomics team, MERT).
- Chemical review and hazard communication.
- Develops and executes company training programs for employees in areas such as HazCom, incident reporting and investigation, Emergency preparedness, lab safety, ergonomics, etc.
- Collect and maintaining EHS data and metrics for site KPIs.
- Manages the site’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A minimum of 4 years of post-graduate related work experience required
- Experience using a EHS management system software (SAP, Intelex) for EH&S recordkeeping and compliance data -preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or similar industry -preferred
- Experience managing consultants, contractors, and vendors - preferred
- Advanced certification (GSP or ASP)- preferred
