What is the opportunity?
RBC Capital Markets’ Client and Marketing Strategy Group is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to join our design team. This individual will work closely with senior design staff to create innovative and impactful designs that engage our brand and help promote RBC Capital Markets initiatives. Candidates should be quick-thinking creatives with an eye for detail, novel approaches, expertise in Adobe Creative Suite programs, and an eagerness to enhance their skill set while producing quality materials.
What will you do?
Your role will require an understanding of brand guidelines, project requirements, creating and revising drafts for final output, updating existing templates, presenting creative concepts, and collaborating with team members.
Design projects will include::
- web graphics for our internal and external website
- social media graphics for various platforms
- event signage for marquee conferences and internal campaigns
- sponsorship advertisements for digital and print
- email graphics and layouts
- business factsheets, brochures and presentations
- customized promotional items
Responsibilities include:
- Assist Senior Design staff in the design and development of high-quality marketing assets for print and digital
- Collaborate with fellow C&MS team members in Events & Conferences, Brand and Citizenship Marketing, Business Marketing, and Communications
- Deliver designs that adhere to brand standards across projects while maintaining a creative, consistent approach
- Pitch and refine ideas during team meetings, implementing feedback constructively
- Support in the production and installation of event and campaign signage
- Source stock imagery
- Work with print vendors for the distribution of printed assets
- Design and code basic HTML communications
- Upload assets to digital file management drives, support housekeeping on internal design servers
What do you need to succeed?
Must have
- 1-3 years professional design experience
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Discerning eye for composition, typography and photography, with impeccable attention to detail
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Self started with the ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a high-pressure team environment and balance competing project deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Design, or related field
Nice to have
- Ability to code and edit HTML/CSS email communications
- Digital marketing experience
