Supervises a small team of technical support staff within a given information technology discipline such as Desktop Services, Network Communications, etc. Delivers technology solutions in a collaborative cross-functional environment. Responsible for supervisory duties necessary to develop staff and deploy technical solutions meeting the needs of the business.

The IT Supervisor position will include leadership and hands-on responsibilities. The IT Supervisor will lead a team of application administrators engaged in the configuration and support of the LIMS. The IT Supervisor will assist these tasks. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Provides work direction and supervision to assigned technical support staff.
  • Ensures service levels and quality of service business objectives are being met, customer service quality and positive interfaces with customers.
  • Provides progress updates to IT leaders and aligns IT with business.


Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification


Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years).
  • 1+ year of leadership responsibility


In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Preferred candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Prior LIMS administration experience
  • Prior experience with SampleManager
  • Developing new and improving existing Standard Operating Procedures
  • MS-Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Project Management
  • Ability to diagnose problems, define/resolve/coordinate the implementation of solutions with other groups
  • Experience working in a regulated laboratory
