IT Project Manager

HR, Payroll & Legal IT is looking for an experienced Project Manager with strong analytical and project management skills, who can apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert.


Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovative solutions. Leads large, cross-division functional projects that affect the organization’s long-term goals and objectives. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.


Responsibilities:

  • Take on project/program management responsibilities and responsible for successfully planning and delivering the projects.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with HR, Payroll and other key business partners. Uses extensive business knowledge to drive engagement for IT Deliverables.
  • Works closely with the business partners to gather and analyze the business requirements, prepare the functional specs to make sure IT Teams understand and deliver the solutions as expected
  • Represents the needs of the business functions during the IT priority-setting process
  • Promotes best practices found in working with one business/function/geography to other business and function organizations
  • Understand the business and IT processes and effectively do the impact / root cause analysis to solve business problems/issues
  • Works with a global team
  • Communicates IT standards to the business.
  • Identifies the need for new IT processes as well as significant improvements to major IT processes and drives the development and implementation of those.


Education and Experience Required:

  • Typically a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years of related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 10 years experience.


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Workday experience in HCM, Recruiting and Payroll modules is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR and Payroll Domains and any exposure to HR & Payroll applications and business processes.
  • Excellent Project Management skills with experience in Agile methodology.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills. Deep business experience at domain level. Strong relationship management skills. Excellent project management and process development skills.
  • Passionate about delivering high quality products.
  • Experience in Project management and QA Tools
