As an IT Manager, you will be pivotal in building out Duolingo's IT infrastructure and streamlining operations to support our rapid growth. You will lead and develop the IT team, applying your expertise to improve IT processes, run impactful projects, and ensure our systems operate seamlessly.
You Will...
- Lead a team of four IT professionals, ensuring effective collaboration, productivity, and growth within the team.
- Drive and lead critical IT projects with a strong emphasis on automation, security, and operational efficiency. Ensure timely delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for employee lifecycle processes to enhance IT operations and tooling, improving overall efficiency and user experience.
- Partner with Workplace and People teams, ensuring high-quality IT service delivery across the organization.
- Apply your deep understanding of network fundamentals to diagnose and resolve network issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
You Have...
- 7+ years of experience in IT Operations, with broad skills in IT infrastructure and SaaS management.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in an organization of 2,000 or more employees
- A consistent track record of leading projects, wrangling complex problems, proposing innovative solutions, and focusing on results driven by metrics.
- Solid experience managing a fleet of computers through an MDM system like Jamf, demonstrating an understanding of device management in a distributed environment.
- Experience building Slack Bots and using automation with Bash, Python to design effective solutions for various scenarios.
- Superb communication and prioritization skills, with solid customer service awareness and the ability to work well with others across different levels of the organization.
- Experience managing devices within both the Windows and Apple operating systems.
Exceptional Candidates Will Have...
- Experience scaling an IT organization efficiently.
- Advanced knowledge in scripting and automation, capable of writing custom scripts to automate repetitive tasks and enhance system integrations.
- Exceptional proficiency in integrating and optimizing development workflows with version control systems and cloud-based CI/CD pipelines, to facilitate seamless operations and team collaboration.
- Demonstrated commitment to the tech community and collaborative innovation through contributions to open source projects related to IT infrastructure management, including SetupYourMac, Munki, and Nudge.
- A history of mentoring team members and leading by example in both technology adoption and process improvements, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and implement innovative solutions that improve IT systems and processes, showcasing creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience with VPN solutions like Tailscale or extensive experience in troubleshooting wireless issues and implementing RADIUS for wireless authentication, indicating a solid ability to enhance network security and efficiency.

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.
This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.
Salary Range: $91,800 - $192,000 USD
