IT Intern

Austin, TX

Cognite is looking for an Information Technology Intern to join our team in Austin, TX for our Fall Intern Program. The ideal candidate would have a passion for and knowledge of computers & technology, IT/OT, and digitalization. The candidate would also have a proven track record of completing projects efficiently, be detail-oriented, and possess the ability to think outside-the-box to support and fulfill the strategic objectives of a highly cross-functional organization. In your time with us, you will learn how a IT department operates, as well as day-to-day skills on how to support teams and projects. You will use your creativity to solve real problems and apply what you have learned at school directly to your internship, while building professional relationships that could lead to a career and lasting friendships.


Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide friendly and timely customer support to internal employees
  • Interact and communicate with Norway IT team for projects and ticket resolution
  • Service regional day to day internal team and end user work request tickets in timely manner
  • Provide hardware troubleshooting of laptops, desktops and misc electronic devices
  • Provide standard onboarding/terming of employees
  • Configure and deploy desktop/laptop, create various accounts, provision phone
  • Add employees to the corporate domain
  • Install, configure, and support Office 365
  • Install and manage security software on desktops
  • Assist in the administration of Active Directory
  • Document day to day tasks, Runbooks, How-Tos, FAQs for employees and IT


Who You Are

  • This role is for students pursuing an undergrad/grad degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Business, or Information Technology)
  • We look for technical competency (github, coding interview, hackerank), drive (self-training / projects) and people empathy (internal customer support experience).
  • Teamwork is an important part of the role. You collaborate well, and bring out the best in your colleagues as they do in you.
  • Grit and determination to "figure it out" when technology is disagreeable
