IT Associate - Analyst

The Technology Associate position is a full-time, entry level, employee role and is aligned to one specific team within the IT organization for a 12 to 13-month period. During the year, there is a strong focus on training, development, mentoring, collaboration and networking. After the program period, each Technology Associate will move up to the next level within the organization upon a successful performance evaluation. Candidates selected for the Technology Associate program will receive technical job training and learn core IT practices, disciplines and new technologies while engaging on a variety of projects and/or business as usual (BAU) activities. IT Associates will work on challenging assignments and will gain exposure to key decision makers and technology leaders within Equitable.             

                      

Responsibilities:    

  • Perform basic to intermediate analysis and work closely with the business clients to identify core business issues in order to map out possible solutions. The mapping is used to develop the business case for action, defining the need, the method, and the benefits of proposed solutions.
  • Undertake basic analysis to contribute to the development of the detailed user stories or requirements of the solution, in order to satisfy the business need.         
  • Support more senior positions in their advocacy for the business clients in all phases of the solution development lifecycle for each of the critical stages, including: initiation, analysis, development, testing, implementation and post implementation follow up.     
  • Develop, code, test, debug and document application systems to achieve the objectives of the client group relative to identified system needs. These systems may be new, replacement of existing systems, or significant modifications of existing software modules.     

 

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • College Degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related    
  • 1+ years of general IT experience 
  • Ability to gather and analyze information and communicate recommendations to stakeholders
  • Ability to design, code, test, debug and document a large range of technologies and systems
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools and data modeling
  • Exposure to VSTS (preferred), Rally, Trello or other backlog management and collaboration tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated organization skills, and good critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Extracurricular activities and leadership roles in colleges, universities, or communities
