Inventory Planner

Battle Creek, MI

Do you enjoy working with inventory and setting the pace for production schedules? As an Inventory Planner at our corporate headquarters, you will develop production and distribution plans to maintain the optimal divisional and location inventory levels. You’ll also solve for product shortages and collaborate with supply chain partners to drive results – It’s about having an owner’s mindset.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING 

  • Set the Pace - Developing short term production schedules across assigned Kellogg facilities and co-manufacturers
  • Fresh Thinking - Managing production and inventory to balance capacity constraints, while also resolving critical product shortage issues  
  • Take a New Angle - Communicating exceptions to production plans and reviewing remediation plans with key individuals
  • Tools for Success - Maintaining planning system parameters (e.g., location of safety stock, economic production quantities, minimum run quantities, transit times, process capacity, packing capacity, shipping constraints, inventory constraints)
  • Drive Efficiency - Monitoring the age of product to minimize write-offs and institute steps to remedy problems and performing capacity analyses
  • Collaborate to Win - Providing timely updates and analysis to Supply Chain partners to identify scenario planning opportunities

 

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required:

  • High School diploma/GED with significant relevant experience
  • Understanding of the supply/demand planning business drivers, organization structures and key metrics
  • Proficiency working with SAP or similar database application technology
  • Excellent proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Access or similar software
  • Very strong communication skills are essential, and expertise in Microsoft Excel and data manipulation are also critical.
