Internal Coordinator

Toronto, ON

As a member of the HBC Asset Protection team you will be accountable for all aspects of Asset Protection as they relate to store and corporate objectives. You will have the ability to work productively with Customers and Associate groups within HBC to ensure all objectives are clearly communicated and executed. As well as this you will monitor and safeguard high loss merchandise at vulnerable entrance locations. In addition, you have a proven track record of searching out operational deficiencies as they relate to Asset Protection and the ability to apply effective solutions.

You also have:

  • High School or equivalent 
  • Candidates must have a valid Ontario Provincial Security guard license under the Private Investigative Services Branch of the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services
  • Minimum 2 years retail experience related to Asset Protection
  • Formal interviewing training (i.e. Wicklander & Zulawski, Reid Technique) an asset
  • Knowledge of retail procedures and criminal/civil proceedings is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of HBC internal systems and applications is a strong asset but not necessary
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows based computer systems including (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)


As the Internal Coordinator, Asset Protection, you will:

  • Protect company assets including merchandise, associates and real estate
  • Primary focus of position will be to drive and lead all internal investigations
  • Monitoring internal exception reports and systems related to internal theft
  • Liaison with investigators related to internal issues
  • Installation and review of covert CCTV
  • Case preparation and documentation for court purposes
  • Monthly monitoring (auditing) of internal compliance issues
  • Integrity interviewing related to internal theft and policy violation
  • Execute Asset Protection procedures to reduce shortage
  • Detect and arrest shoplifters and complete related documentation
