Internal Audit Manager

McLean, VA

The audit of Capital Markets and Finance (CMF) team audits a variety of areas including; securities trading desks, treasury and debt functions, middle and back office functions, market risk management, liquidity risk management, and counter-party and credit risk management. We are seeking an Internal Audit Manager to join our team.


**This position can be performed remotely (in the US) or office based in McLean, VA.**


Our Impact:

As part of the Third Line of Defense the candidate will work closely with risk partners in the Second Line of Defense and practitioners in the First Line of Defense.


Your Impact:

  • Supervise the day-to-day oversight of individual audit
  • Create a risk and control matrix
  • Identify deficiencies in the control design and operating effectiveness provide solutions, draft report and participate in the reporting process
  • Perform testing of controls
  • Lead client meetings and communicate audit findings
  • Manage resource allocation and scheduling
  • Management and audit committee reporting
  • Assist with the annual planning process


Qualifications:

  • Typically has 8 to 12 years of experience, including previous experience in public accounting, risk management or internal audit; other relevant experience may be considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems or related discipline
  • Must work well in a collaborative environment as well as individually
  • Must work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with auditing / supporting financial reporting processes preferred


Preferred Skills

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), other relevant certifications (or commitment to get certified within one year)
  • Experience performing data analysis using data mining and visualization techniques (Tableau, SAS, SQL, R, Python and/or ACL)
  • Banking/financial services experience
  • Big 4 experience
  • Specialized experience or prior working knowledge in functions of Multi-family, Single-family and Capital Markets
