We meet the audience where it is with the programs it wants.


Scripps National Networks is looking for a Research Intern to gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily job assignments and a solid grounding in statistics, data analysis, and/or modeling. 


What you will do:

  • Gain exposure to the industry.
  • Work with senior-level researchers and other staff members on several important projects.
  • Create profiles of competitive TV networks using a variety of data sources, including Nielsen.
  • Develop a programming acquisition model that can be used to identify syndicated series likely to be strong performers on Scripps Networks (e.g. ION, Bounce, Laff, Mystery).
  • Additional projects may be assigned as time permits.
  • Get broad, hands-on exposure to media research tools & applications.   
  • Gain appreciation of how other departments within the organization (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Programming) interact with, and leverage, the Research department.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills

Education & Experience/Certifications

  • At least two years of college-level coursework that includes some combination of statistics, data analysis, modeling, data science, and econometrics.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exposure to statistical or data mining software such as SPSS, PSPP, R, SAS, etc.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 


Skills/Abilities

  • Eagerness to learn and with curiosity.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Teamwork and able to work independently.
  • Strong desire to learn more about the industry.
  • Ability to follow directions.
