In addition to a project that will provide experience and exposure to manufacturing engineering, the Hologic College Relation team provides opportunities to learn more about the company, networking with leadership, and developing skills needed to succeed in your future career.
The Manufacturing Engineering team is a group of Engineers responsible for the automated production equipment used to manufacture diagnostic tests produced by Hologic.
Throughout the 10-12 weeks you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the following:
- Troubleshooting equipment issues; mechanical, electrical and software
- Design of components and/or fixturing
- Commissioning of new equipment
- Improving processes within manufacturing
We are looking for a motivated, bright individuals who are capable of solving problems and strive to make a difference in the world. Key qualifications include the following:
- Able to work full-time on site at our San Diego campus over the summer for at least a 10-12 week period (May/June - August/Sept)
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program with at least one semester remaining post internship
- Majoring in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical, or Bio)
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with MS Office applications
- Exposure to controller programming (PLCs, Arduino etc.)
- Exposure to statistics and statistical/math-based software (Minitab, JMP, MATLAB)
The hourly pay range for this role is $19 - $28 per hour. Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
