Innovation Sustainability Program Manager

ABOUT THIS TEAM
The Footwear innovation team is a diverse group of designers, developers, engineers, and scientists, who are future thinking, detail-orientated and solution focused. They are at the forefront of performance and lifestyle footwear and aware of technological advances in product creation and how this relates to the sportswear industry. They are strong communicators who value and develop their cross functional relationships. This is a team of high performers who are constantly striving to develop personally and professionally, practicing open feedback in a trusting space.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
As the innovation sustainability program manager you will be in required to stay up to date with latest research and assessments of industry best practice, regulatory traceability, and certification requirements. Partner with corportate sustainability teams to implement sustainability initiatives into the product creation process. Support innovation and mainline new product developments through the lens of lululemons BePlanet initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and assess industry best practices and regulators tracability and certification requirements.
- Partner with lululemons corporate sustainability team to align and implement new processes and systems to meet corporate goals.
- Support mainline footwear material and vendor evaluation to ensure alignment with corporate sustainability targets.
- Manage internal and external life cycle analysis.
- Communicate temporal project status through hardgoods innovation workflow stage-gate process.
- Partner with LO Development to maintain and ensure SOP compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6-8 years experience in sustainability or environmental reporting.
- Experience with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
- Experience with carbon accounting and sustainability impact reporting
- Experience in supply chain management and footwear development/manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and environmental impact.
- Clear communicator who can breakdown complex topics into easy to understand and actional pieces of information.
- Ability to work cross functionally and manage multiple projects at once.
- 2-5 years of people management experience
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to act objectively and uncover facts;
- Understand the complexities of the cross-functional requirements to deliver product;
- Clear, concise and confident communicator that lives to support the business; and
- Enjoy a fast pace environment and can create order from chaos.
