Human Resources Manager

Los Angeles, CA

OUTFRONT Media is seeking an energetic, compassionate, roll-up-your-sleeves, collaborative and results-driven Human Resources Manager to assist in the management of the day-to-day HR operations of the Los Angles office and Western Region. Reporting to and working closely with the Vice President, Human Resources and Co-Chief Diversity Officer, the Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the execution and administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs, performance management, retention and DEI initiatives for OUTFRONT Media. The Human Resources Manager will focus on all aspects of all HR-related functional areas, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS/Workday) reporting and analysis, performance management, and benefits and compensation support.  


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day HR support: recruitment, interviewing, on-boarding, off-boarding, performance management, and reporting/analytics/metrics.
  • Partner with the Vice President, Human Resources & Co-Chief Diversity Officer to support OUTFRONT’s West leadership and their teams with employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and practices.
  • Assist in carrying out annual HR initiatives, including: talent planning and acquisition, performance management, and compensation planning.
  • Provide HR support a wide range of office and operations personnel, which includes employees governed by collective bargaining agreements.
  • Identify and provide creative solutions to talent attraction and retention initiatives, employee engagement challenges.
  • Maintain employee-related databases such as Workday. Prepare and analyze reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company. Prepare reports for management, as necessary. Assist and train Managers and employees on usage of all HR platforms as needed.
  • Partner with HR team members on communications to employees on compensation, benefits, leave of absence, policy or talent-related issues.
  • Participate in the conducting of investigations.
  • Advise managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive disciplinary and performance improvement process,  Counsel managers on employment issues and assists managers in developing performance improvement plans.
  • Assist with the HR activities that support the overall performance of the workforce and contribute to the current and future needs of the organization.
  • Act as an advocate for employees and managers in a manner that promotes trust, open communication, and problem resolution.  
  • Assists in and supports  DEI initiatives at the local and national level.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties, as assigned


Human Resources Requirements:

  • General knowledge of California and Federal employment laws and practices.
  • Solid experience in the talent attraction, interviewing, retention and development.
  • Experience in benefits, compensation, talent, and other HR programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills.
  • Good relationship-building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high-quality HR services in a fast-paced environment.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 to 7+ years of successfully progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff and management.
  • Experience with HR information systems/platforms (preferably Workday).
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize projects, manage a fast-paced environment; meet deadlines and handle multiple ongoing projects concurrently.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Highly innovative, resourceful and detail-oriented.
