HR Manager

Culture is making it easier to scale-up and manufacture products using biology. We are hiring a HR Manager to attract, onboard and manage HR operations for our staff. 

What you will do:

• Manage all onboarding, required training and offboarding as well as identify possible departmental training needs and requirements
• Manage all payroll and benefits administration, with assistance from accounting
• Be hands-on with daily operational HR needs
• Assist in driving the evolution of HR policies and practices within the company by identifying opportunities to improve and make fact and market-based recommendations 
• Assist with creating job descriptions, recruiting and sourcing, as needed
• Assist in the design, implementation, and management of HR processes, including: competitive compensation/benefits planning; scalable on-boarding programs; and talent development/performance management across the organization
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal expectations and partner with colleagues and consultants in legal and finance areas for people-related topics
• Understand our business as a whole and develop recommendations & initiatives around training, culture and DE&I, creating the best environment for employees to thrive
• Listen to and collaborate with the entire team to articulate, synthesize, and evolve the company culture

About you:

• You’re curious, empathetic, and reflective
• You’re able to easily build trusting relationships
• You have at least 4 years of experience working in people operations or human resources and at least 2 years of experience working as a manager
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
• Experience supporting a diverse workforce including exempt and non-exempt roles
• Plus: work experience in a high-growth organization

Your Schedule:

• This role will be full time and based on site at our South San Francisco facility, with flexibility for some remote work days.
