HR Generalist - Bilingual

Santa Rosa, CA

As HR Generalist you will be responsible for consulting and advising team leaders with regard to the human needs of the company. The HR Generalist will be the first point of contact for recruiting as well as onboarding, demonstrating a strong understanding of the company, our mission and culture. Work with leadership on personnel and company initiatives, training and development, and support business needs and serve as the face of human resources. You will be outgoing and eager to step into everyday needs with strong communication skills.


This is a full-time role, with expectations of working in the office 5 days a week.


Candidate must be fully vaccinated against the COVID 19 virus


Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Develop and maintain effective employee relations
  • Act as a point of contact for inquiries about employee issues and HR policies/procedures
  • Facilitate employee and manager discussions/ mediations/investigations/issues to drive to quick resolution
  • Manage the disciplinary process and ensure employees are treated fairly and equally and in compliance with Federal, State and Local Law


HR Policies, Procedures, Compliance and Analysis

  • Implement, develop and maintain all HR records, policies and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, and local laws by constantly monitoring and implementing applicable HR and employment updates 
  • Manage compensation and benefits
  • Manage all annual federal and state labor postings for all facilities
  • Maintain the employee handbook, and ensure hiring and recruiting processes are compliant with applicable laws
  • Develop and track HR related metrics; Support other departments with requested data


Recruiting and Hiring -

  • Manage recruiting and hiring process
  • Coordinate and conduct applicable interviews
  • Work closely with the hiring manager with updates on candidates
  • Extend employment offers through HRIS onboarding application 


Training

  • Onboard new hires based on company procedures
  • Support the performance review process
  • Build and maintain an employee development and training plan in cooperation with management and prepare the budget of trainings for approval by management


Health and Safety Operations

  • Manage reporting process for health and safety including reporting for workplace injuries and Workers' Compensation


Payroll Responsibilities may be included in this role

  • Manage timeclock system 
  • Ensure employee deduction amounts are kept current
  • Maintain records on vacation, sick leave, etc.
  • Data entry for various HR/Payroll related databases.


Benefit program responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate plan offering and enrollment with broker and/or carrier including workflow for open enrollment, applications and termination of benefits.
  • Monitor deductions and reconcile medical, dental and vision benefit billings


Qualifications/ Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Bi-lingual a must (Spanish and English)
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong computer skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Strong technical skill set, with the ability to learn new software systems as they are implemented
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources role with exposure to all facets of HR including benefits, compensation, employee development, workers compensation, employee training, recruitment, benefits and communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong experiences in HR processes, procedures and policies
  • Strong knowledge of Federal, State and Local employment laws and regulations Must possess a thorough understanding of the confidentiality associated with the position
  • Creation of reports and PowerPoint presentations as needed
  • Strong customer service to internal and external business partners
  • Strong excel and google sheets knowledge
  • Intermediate skill level in Excel
