Head of Talent Acquisition

ULI has around 300 employees across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Our global People Team develops and implements programs to proactively enhance the employee experience and increase employee engagement, wherever our people are based. Following the recent appointment of our new Chief People Officer (CPO), ULI is currently investing in the team as it doubles in size and starts out on its exciting 3-year people roadmap. This is a pivotal time to join the team, in a key leadership role.


This is a hybrid, full-time, exempt position, located in Washington, DC.


The Director, Talent Acquisition acts as a strategic partner for leaders, hiring managers and the global talent acquisition team to bring new talent into the organization. This position will have a people first, business-focused approach to help translate goals to talent acquisition strategies for a growing department and organization. This role serves as a project lead for all aspects of recruiting, onboarding, internal and external recruitment efforts.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the talent acquisition team and all processes, infrastructure and operations related to talent acquisition from role definition through on-boarding with the goal of bringing in diverse top talent.
  • Directs, plans, and develops strategies and processes to attract, proactively build, and maintain a quality talent pipeline and fill open positions by sourcing passive and active candidates.
  • Work in conjunction with our international HR Business Partner to support global talent acquisition efforts to recruit talent.
  • Market a strong authentic employer brand aligned with our organizational goals and culture to differentiate ULI as an employer of choice.
  • Serve as the foundation for attracting top candidates and ensuring a consistent and positive candidate experience.
  • Proactively develop creative strategies to source candidates from multiple channels utilizing various technologies and social media.
  • Establish relationships with external recruiting resources including agencies, LinkedIn, Indeed, professional associations, universities, etc.
  • Oversee new joiner experience to ensure onboarding is informative and effective.
  • Execute key projects and initiatives to optimize systems and processes.
  • Drive DEI strategy and tactical implementation as it relates to talent acquisition.
  • Educate hiring managers for processes, systems and legal updates.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the business, market and emerging trends within the talent acquisition field.
  • Work cross functionally within the People Team on projects critical to the growth and success of ULI.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 8 years progressive experience in talent acquisition with at least 3 years managing a full cycle recruiting team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Experience recruiting on the global stage preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about or an interest in Talent Acquisition and Human Resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate creative approaches to problem solving and talent acquisition.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (including excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc) and the Internet.
  • Must be able to maintain total discretion and confidentiality at all times.
