Head of People Analytics

As our Head of People Analytics, you will lead our people analytics team to deliver critical insights to enable better decision making about Asana’s most important asset - our people. You will build our team and champion our people analytics efforts, partnering with other people and business leaders to continuously build our award-winning culture like a product. As part of this role, you’ll also have the unique opportunity to leverage Asana’s work management platform to gain insights into collaboration and productivity best practices, and influence our sales and long-term product roadmap in service of our mission to help humanity thrive by enabling the world's teams to work together effortlessly. 


What you’ll do:

  • Partner on our people analytics vision and strategy, and provide thought leadership on how data can be used to optimize the full people life cycle (owning post-hire analytics, as well as providing advice and mentorship to our talent acquisition ops team)
  • Plan and execute on our roadmap, prioritizing deliverables in response to our business needs over the near term while simultaneously building the foundation for more advanced analytics and research capabilities over the long-term
  • Translate analytic insights into actionable recommendations for Asana’s People program leaders and broader leadership team
  • Assess which software, tools and vendor partnerships we should invest in to support our people analytics efforts and best facilitate access to data for decision makers
  • Collaborate with our people systems team and other technology leaders to develop a robust data warehouse from which we can extract insights
  • Serve as a center of excellence for qualitative and quantitative employee research, supporting our people-centered approach to program design (e.g., training/development, rewards, diversity, belonging & inclusion, talent, etc.) 
  • Lead & grow a talented team of people analytics professionals
  • Ensure our engagement survey and pay equity efforts continue to be market leading and drive positive business outcomes
  • Establish governance practices to ensure we are both legally compliant and ethically sound in how we manage people data, partnering closely with our legal, privacy and security teams
  • Actively pursue opportunities to leverage the people insights gained from Asana’s work management tool to support our sales and product development efforts


Our ideal candidate:

  • 10+ years of combined experience in HR, People Analytics, Data Science, Business Intelligence or other related disciplines
  • Well versed in workforce data analysis and HR metrics, including emerging market trends
  • Strong HR knowledge and general business acumen
  • Proficiency using common tools and languages for conducting research and developing predictive models using statistical analysis, querying large relational databases, and manipulating / integrating data from various sources (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS, SQL, Python)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to a wide audience and influence change by translating insights into action
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Scrappy, practical and resourceful; able to scale up and down and creatively build leverage
  • Artful storytelling - go beyond the data to deliver insights
  • Strong project management capabilities, managing multiple project streams and priorities
  • A demonstrated track record of attracting talent and building diverse, high performing teams
  • Experienced in using data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience with Workday HCM
  • Consulting experience a plus
  • SaaS experience a plus
