The Waymo Internal Communications team is looking for a strategic, collaborative, and exemplary communicator to lead our team. As Waymo’s head of internal communications, you will develop and implement strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams to inform, inspire, and connect Waymonauts in the U.S. and around the world. You’ll lead our internal communications team as they build thoughtful and impactful internal communications strategies, positioning, and creative assets to enable our best-in-class team. You’re both people- and data-minded, and you’re excited by the opportunity to strengthen understanding and connections among our world-class, global team. 


In this role you'll:

  • You are a self-starter and proven leader who enjoys working in a rapidly-evolving tech industry. 
  • You’re an effective and impactful communicator who can build relationships with people at any level or job function - including C-suite leadership - and lead cross-functional teams through influence. You demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • You’re a proven people manager who takes pride in effective team communication, learning and development, decision-making, and planning.
  • Build, manage, and optimize internal communications channels to inform, connect, and inspire teams.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute impactful internal communications.
  • Shape and evolve internal communications strategies, channels, and efforts at Waymo.


At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • BA/BS degree 
  • 10+ years of communications experience, including in internal communications
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven track record in strategic thinking & planning
  • Proven track record of managing & leading teams
  • Proven track record of successfully working with C-Suite executives


It’s preferred if you have:

  • Experience working in a start-up environment
  • Experience in change management
  • Experience in employee engagement and experience
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments


The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process. 


Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

$230,000—$278,000 USD
