Head of Global Trade Policy

Under the supervision of the Director of Policy, the Head of Global Trade Policy will identify, analyze, and manage advocacy in all regions related to international trade policy and legislation, including issues involving tariffs, customs, export controls, sanctions, and other regulatory issues that impact the flow of goods, services, data, investment, and people across borders. Serve in Apple’s Washington, D.C. office.

Key Qualifications

  • Professional experience, including as a government official, related directly to the development, negotiation, legislation, or implementation of international trade laws and policies, as well as other laws and policies that impact cross-border trade
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to learn new substantive policy areas as needed
  • Collaborative, who can lead in shaping outcomes


Description

Develop and implement strategies for achieving Apple's public policy goals on specific legislative, administrative, and political issues involving policies that impact the cross-border flow of goods, services, people, technology, and investment.


Work with public officials whose portfolios impact international trade, and expand/develop these relationships.


Represent Apple’s international trade policy interests at international organizations, domestic agencies and legislatures, and industry associations.


Advise senior management on key international trade policy issues impacting Apple, including through written and oral briefings


Serve as key liaison to Apple managers/departments regarding specific trade policy issues and work with Apple’s government affairs personnel throughout the world to help develop and coordinate Apple’s policy positions.


Education & Experience

Master’s Degree in International Affairs (or equivalent) or Law Degree, plus minimum 15 years professional experience in international trade field.
