Head of Global Content and Culture, Internal Comms

Our communications team brings the Dropbox story to life and shares it with the world. From news announcements to user stories to speaking engagements, our work takes many forms and reaches diverse, international audiences. We build compelling narratives to help people connect with our product, brand, and vision — including our own Dropboxers.


As Head of Global Content and Culture, you’ll play an integral role in shaping the employee experience and defining the culture at Dropbox. Your work will uplift our team of storytellers and communicators responsible for crafting the way Dropbox interacts with its employees to inform, motivate, and inspire them. In this role, you’ll report to the Head of Internal Communications and Culture, partner with cross-functional teams, and lead a high-performing team to own our content, channel, and culture amplification strategy in a Virtual First environment. 


Responsibilities

Global Content Strategy

  • Create meaningful, engaging content across key Dropbox properties to motivate Dropboxers around our strategy and culture through dynamic storytelling
  • Drive engagement across companywide channels and events, including All Hands, executive Q&As, leadership offsites, the company intranet, Slack campaigns, email cascades, and manager toolkits


Global Channel Strategy

  • Define Dropbox employee segments and determine how we use internal channels to tailor communications to their needs
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to redefine cultural norms leveraging the use of new technologies and media
  • Evolve our channels with our Virtual First model, optimizing for asynchronous communication and making “live” communications special


Amplifying Culture

  • Amplify our values and help usher Dropboxers into the next evolution of its culture
  • Share the voices and experiences of our employees and celebrate Dropbox culture, including Social Impact and Employee Resource Group programming
  • Drive cultural change through strategic programming and internal transformation initiatives with the DEI, Virtual First, Leadership and Organizational Development, and Collaboration Technology teams


Other Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key leader on the Internal Communications and Culture team, managing a team of all-star Content Strategists and an incredible Program Manager
  • Partner closely with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on employee-related issues


Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in internal communications, HR/employee communications and/or PR. Journalism or marketing experience a plus
  • Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work directly with senior executives and inspire confidence
  • Proven ability to communicate thoughtfully and creatively to various employee audiences 
  • Strong understanding of messaging strategy, storytelling and narrative development within an organization
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, along with a strong work ethic, and a love of what you do 
  • Comfortable working in a Virtual First environment 


Total Rewards

For candidates hired in Colorado, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is $154,400 - $181,700 - $209,000.


This salary/OTE range represents the low, middle, and high end of the salary or OTE (Sales roles) range for this position, and is subject to change. To determine a Dropboxer’s starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. This position may be considered a promotional opportunity. 


Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
