Head of Developer Community

Remote New York, NY

Cisco is on a mission to build a unified Community strategy and experience that encompasses all user audiences, products, and business units globally. 


In this role, you will own and advocate for the growth and health of our developer community – keeping a constant pulse on each one of our audience’s motivations and needs and will partner across teams to focus on growing and engaging the community, developing high quality community programs and content, measuring success of the community, and more!


We are looking for an experienced, curious Developer Community leader who loves and has proven success building programs that grow, engage, enable, and celebrate thriving and inclusive developer communities. 


Responsibilities

You will design and oversee the successful execution of all Cisco Developer Community Programs, including:

  • Create and execute on the community strategy, programs, roadmap, and success metrics
  • Plan the strategy and oversee the execution of community events globally and throughout the year
  • Partner with the Content and Product teams to develop a community content strategy. Manage and execute on that strategy
  • Work cross functionally on community engagement strategies
  • Moderate, listen and engage regularly with our amazing community members, providing them with any support and resources they need
  • Constantly gather feedback from the community and bring those insights to the appropriate internal teams
  • Identify opportunities to surprise, delight, and show our community members how much we appreciate them
  • Facilitate an inviting, helpful, and honest community culture that represents the best of Cisco Developer
  • Measure, analyze, and track community data, providing regular reporting throughout the company and influence to key priorities
  • Manage all internal and external community documentation
  • Create community onboarding and offboarding processes

Qualifications

  • 6-7+ years in Community Management with experience scaling Community Programs and 8-10 years relevant work experience
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams, and champion new ideas. 
  • Deep understanding of the motivations and challenges of developers as well as developer communities.
  • Proven track record defining and executing global developer community programs that drive key outcomes.
  • Track record of creating engaging digital, community, and event communications and experiences
  • Demonstrated familiarity with enterprise development technologies, programming languages and cloud native approaches.
