Head of Communications

Remote (United States)

As our Head of Communications, you’ll grow awareness around Vanta and sharing our story with the world. You’ll be tasked with building engaging communications across public relations, corporate communications and internal communications that bring our unique value prop, culture and values to life. You’ll be an integral part of our Marketing leadership team, reporting into the VP of Marketing, working closely with peers to drive awareness, adoption and affinity across our customers and prospects.

 

What you’ll do as a Head of Communications at Vanta:

  •  Define and drive global PR and communication strategies that are aligned with marketing objectives and the broader company mission
  •  Tell Vanta’s story strategically to the world
  •  Partner with our CEO and Executive Team to develop and execute an executive communications strategy, leveraging and shaping content plans based on company narrative, goals and emerging trends
  • Own the relationship with our PR agency, identifying key metrics and goals and ensuring they are hitting those goals
  • Build our analyst relations program, understanding the landscape and developing relationships with key analysts
  • Provide strategic guidance to executives, leaders, and agency partners on identifying and engaging with media, analysts, and influencers
  • Lead the identification, development, pitching and placement of Vanta related stories in top tier business, consumer and financial media worldwide, in print, digital and broadcast outlets

 

How to be successful in this role:

  • Corporate communications/public relations experience (7-10+ years) in a high growth B2B/Enterprise software company (security experience is a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills, comfortable reviewing and analyzing business performance metrics, KPIs, ability to pivot when needed. Proven ability to support business goals
  • Experience building and leading teams
  • Outstanding story telling, writing skills and editing skills
  • Strong executive presence and experience working as an advisor to senior leaders
  • Self-starter with a desire to join a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment
  • Excellent project management skills, including experience building and executing new programs and managing them to scale
  • Effective team player who acts with a sense of urgency to meet project deadlines
  • Understand the importance of all types of storytelling including those anchored in traditional media as well as social media, streaming media, and content media and how to strategically use all avenues to reach diverse audiences
