Group Director, Information Security Governance & Awareness

CHANEL is hiring a Group Director, Information Security Governance & Awareness. We are looking for a Governance and Cyber Risk champion to join our Information Security Team in the NYC area. You will play a leading role, reporting directly to the Head of Information Security. You will be safeguarding the integrity and reputation of The House by ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies, while garnering awareness to influence behavior change.


You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the enterprise including Tech, Legal, Operations, Retail, and with our global partners to assess risks, implement continuous monitoring programs, and drive a culture of cyber resilience and accountability across the organization.

What impact you can create at CHANEL: 

  • Through a deep understanding of the Chanel business and strategy, you’ll establish governance through policy and standards, socializing and monitoring adherence. 
  • Representing the Tech organization, you’ll liaise between Tech COEs and auditors to drive compliance and remediation. 
  • You’ll build programs to garner awareness and influence behavior change across corporate, retail, and operations.  
  • Working closely with TECH_ leadership and our global security partners, you will oversee organizational maturity assessments and conduct controls reviews to validate effectiveness. 
  • As a critical thinker and a doer, you will not just identify information security program gaps but work closely with the Head of Information Security, implement them, and influence adoption through dynamic steering. 
  • You will drive evolution by risk taking as a Tech leader, acting expeditiously in making decisions and recommendations, understanding the factors associated with decision-making in a matrix style organization.

  • Navigating complexity and monitoring risk on the regional and global level in close partnership with the wider Information Security team driving consistent transformation and change. 

 

What you will bring to the team... 

  • Audit experience including IT general controls, security program management, and technical controls reviews. 
  • Deep understanding of industry standards and frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST 800-53, CIS, etc. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of cyber risk experience with a focus on policy governance, risk assessments, and compliance. 
  • Experience with governing cloud security and cloud-native environments including Azure, GCP and AWS. 
  • Experience with PCI DSS assessments and readiness is preferred. 
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to translate complex security concepts to senior leadership and the business. 
  • Passion for your work and an interest in working within the luxury retail industry. 

 

Position Logistics: 

  • Minimum of 10 years of cyber risk experience with a focus on policy governance, risk assessments, and compliance. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent; Security-specific certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, CISA) are preferred. 
  • Availability to work from Piscataway, NJ and New York, NY office locations.  
  • Hybrid work model with 3 days onsite required.

Compensation 

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $127,000 - $190,000.  Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other components [may/will] include additional compensation, benefits and perks. 
  • Base salary, bonus potential and other forms of variable pay [may/will be] offered for this position.
