Global Marketing Product Director

Minneapolis, MN

Responsible for the strategic direction of $1.3B+ Global organization that operates in B2B OEM environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Increase revenue and profitability through portfolio management, new product introduction/commercialization and product/platform lifecycle management.
  • Convert industry knowledge, voice of customer, voice of market and segment information into innovation projects to build the pipeline for our global stage gate process.
  • Drive simplification efforts to manage product portfolio, platform portfolio and raw material baskets. Improve product costs and working capital through active global platform portfolio management. 
  • Partner with regional marketing directors and technical directors to connect platform portfolio management.
  • Develop & manage the global powder MGPP by aggregating segment & regional needs – connect GI MGPP to EPS strategy - - drive regional deployment and commercialization.
  • Strategic powder initiatives and key technical transfer’s oversight


Strategy

  • Develop and maintain the global powder strategy inclusive of portfolio, innovation, and emerging technology assessments.
  • Global aggregation, harmonization & management of GI Segment MGPP and Regional MGPPs
  • Lead Stage Gate process to accelerate New Product Development
  • Aggregate GI Division MGPP needs & set/manage priorities with GI Division Technical EPS or Innovations lab
  • Acquisitions analysis and recommendations as applicable
  • Partner with Segment Market Directors & Regional Technical Directors with product ideation through full commercialization
  • Aggregate regional and segment orientation of competitor product intelligence and product positioning


Business Development

  • Partner with regions & segments in development of pricing and proforma guidance for Regional Product Lines
  • Support Sales effort as subject matter expert as necessary


Products

  • Develop the business case for new product development
  • Vet key assumptions and new product business request from segment & regional partners
  • Provide final prioritization of stage gate developments and transfers in each region as part of PMR process
  • Support allocation and prioritization of technical resources for product development
  • Assist in facilitating the launch of new powder products in all focus markets and all regions
  • Support the analysis of product portfolios of all focus markets, identifying product gaps and product duplication
  • Develop Global Strategies to drive new product innovation that will improve the product mix to effectively enhance margins, lower SKU counts & inventory levels and build a distinct competitive advantage in the market place.
  • Responsibility for managing global platforms and setting direction/guidance for regional platforms where the market competition dictates the need.

QUALIFICATIONS

FORMAL EDUCATION: 

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree – Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science

Or

  • Bachelor Business Degree – Marketing (BBA)

Preferred:

  • Masters of Business Administration 


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Previous sales and/or marketing experience in B2B required 
  • Innovation, New product development and commercialization experience

Preferred:

  • 5 years industry experience
  • Global management experience

  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis. 
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs. 
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. 
  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone. 
  • Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
