General Manager

Lyft is looking for a strategic leader to oversee the Bluebikes and Capital Bikeshare programs for TBS, which encompass the Boston and Washington DC metro areas, respectively. This leader will own the P&Ls for these systems, which means responsibility for regional strategy, growth, service quality, partnership with local government, program leadership, and overall operational excellence. We also expect this leader to play an integral role in supporting cross functional initiatives across TBS in areas such as product development and policy, and help shape broader company strategy. It’s an extraordinary moment to take on this leadership role as we continue to grow our programs and introduce new products. 


As a General Manager, you will work together with internal and external stakeholders to shape the vision and execution for these regions, as well as contribute to success and learnings in additional markets, through the contribution to playbooks, organization capabilities and advising with on-the-ground execution. The General Manager is a critical leadership role within the organization, acting as a voice of the company at all levels and teams within the organization and externally as a representative of Lyft.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategy and execution for the Boston and Washington DC areas, and influence decisions from organizational leaders that will have a large impact on the business. 
  • Lead a large team and provide leadership guidance to an expanded group of cross functional market support
  • Collaborate with local government program leadership to deliver outstanding micromobility that meets shared objectives for growth
  • Manage regional P&L to achieve growth while keeping within budget
  • Build system ridership through guiding local marketing efforts
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor performance
  • Create playbooks, metrics and contingency plans to govern day-to-day operations
  • Synthesize market feedback and recommendations for HQ business, product and engineering teams
  • Partner with senior operations leaders, finance, supply chain, science and product/engineering to advance the strategy and infrastructure to scale markets


Experience:

  • 10+ years of operations or strategy experience with P&L or significant ownership
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a get-it-done attitude
  • Experience working with public sector actors
  • Experience managing a large team with a wide variety of skills and roles
  • Quantitative by nature and obsessed with process improvement
  • Experience working cross-functionally across large organizations
  • Experience with urban transit and micro-mobility a strong plus
  • Role is based in Boston with travel to Washington DC but travel also possible to support other markets or HQ in San Francisco or New York

The expected pay for this position in the US is $195,500.00 - $230,000.00. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
