Financial Analyst

Culver City, CA

Reporting to the Manager, Production Finance Systems, the Financial Analyst will be the data administrator of multiple systems and serve as the finance systems liaison to various departments of Sony Pictures Television, including TV Production Accounting, Production, and Production IT Services, as well as external third-party data system vendors.


The Financial Analyst is responsible for onboarding and offboarding TV Production Accounting/Finance personnel, set-up of accounts, and management of vendors’ products and is a line of business product owner.


Responsibilities

  • Onboard production accounting personnel and related equipment
  • Interface with production accounting management, IT management and personnel and various systems to ensure proper set-up
  • Track rights of all production accounting users and their rights into various internal/external systems
  • Interface with third-party vendor and be responsible for the utilization of the applications of the respective vendor ensuring SOX compliance and controls
  • Interact with vendors and ensure all documents are properly registered in vendors’ sites
  • Onboard titles with various vendors ensuring proper accounting and finance set-up inclusive of AP set-up
  • Prepare, review, audit and maintain tracker by application/user/role/show for SOX control and be responsible for all updates
  • Ensure that vendor payments have been made by various accounting teams related to third-party system
  • Work with other teams to ensure that banking systems are working as designed from implementation to daily compliance
  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure that the applicable data systems are working as designed
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business Administration or related area of expertise
  • 1+ years of experience in public and/or private accounting
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Entertainment industry production accounting or network audit experience preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of computer systems mandatory; SAP knowledge helpful
  • EP systems experience helpful: Global Vista, Smart Accounting, Scenechronize
  • Detail-oriented; strong organizational, analytical, and Excel skills
  • Strong follow-through on all projects; ability to perform tasks with reasonable independence and bring projects to timely completion
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and problem-solve in a dynamic, creative environment
