Your Role

You will be a key member of our Corporate Finance team that will be involved in various aspects of the finance department function. The primary focus will be on: Corporate accounting close, consolidation and analysis of the Company's Canadian business results, assistance with forecasting of Company's cash flow statement and balance sheet, and assistance with the reporting and analysis of the Company's REIT financial statements. You will also be responsible for various tasks related to external and SEC reporting.


The ideal candidate will be highly proficient with Excel including the ability to apply complex functions as needed. The ideal candidate should have significant experience with the use of financial systems, as well as report modeling and financial statement analysis.


Essential Functions

  • Understand Accounting and Corporate Finance concepts; Understand the components of a Profit and Loss Statement, a Balance Sheet, and a Cash Flow Statement
  • Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations needed to complete the monthly and quarterly accounting close
  • Consolidation and review of the Company's Canadian business results and forecasts, including the review and calculation of foreign currency translation
  • Prepare monthly & quarterly financial statement and more detailed account analyses
  • Prepare reporting schedules for the Company's external and SEC financial statements, including assistance in the review and tie out of those financial statements
  • Assist with the preparation of information used for the monthly balance sheet and cash flow forecast
  • Assist with the preparation of information used for the Company's monthly and quarterly REIT financial statements
  • Assist with the enhancement of report modeling as it relates to internal and external financial information
  • Ability to proactively identify areas for enhancements in reporting and analyzing financial information, and work to execute such enhancements
  • Ability to learn different financial systems easily, including Oracle, TM1, GL Wand, Carta AP, and PBCS
  • Coordination with external auditors, and the performance of SOX testing
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g. Treasury, Tax), and with members of the US & Canadian Finance Teams
  • Assist the Corporate FP&A Team with tasks as needed


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience, mix of public and private accounting preferred
  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Significant experience working with all major financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of cash flow
  • Proven experience working with large amounts of data required; previous experience with report modeling
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and various other complex formulas)
  • Strong analytical skills and prior experience performing analysis of financial results
  • Previous experience with Oracle and TM1 preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong team player who can work also work independently
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to handle details and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment


The salary range for this role is $75,000-$90,000 per year.  Compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate’s experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position.  Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
