Sony Electronics Inc. has an excellent opportunity for a Financial Analyst in our Media Solutions and Segment team based in Paramus, NJ. This role will provide support to the business with performing financial analysis and reporting for the business segment. This position's responsibilities include but not limited to: oversee the financials and accounting process for the business group, which includes analytical review, financial analysis, and business planning. Reviews and approves monthly G/L close and consolidation; reserve and account analysis.
Other duties include: ensuring compliance with Internal Audit, GAAP and SOX; reviewing and maintaining allocation methodologies; maintaining cost controls; conducting contract development and reviews; reviewing purchase orders, and third party negotiations. The Financial Analyst is actively involved in the preparation, formulation, implementation and execution of the original budget, mid-range plan and other forecasts as well as strategic/business planning, asset management, policy maintenance, procedures and internal controls. Additional duties assigned as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting is required
- 1-4 years of related experience
- Strong Technical Accounting and Finance skills, GAAP knowledge, analytical ability, and solid business acumen including an understanding of business operations
- Domestic travel as needed
- Advanced computer skills (pivot tables & graphs) in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
Preferred Requirements:
- Working knowledge of financial systems (SAP) and Business Warehouse (BW) reports preferred
